Toffs Nightclub Closed Down

Written by Jonathan Malory

The club was emptied of its clientele when it was decided that Toffs needed to be sealed off to allow officers from North Yorkshire Police to carry out a thorough investigation at the scene of a brainless attack.

It was 1.15 in the morning, late Saturday night, when police were called to the mediocre night club on Toft Green in York after a man was hurt during an altercation. He later received treatment at YDH. There was in excess of 300 people in the club at the time of the incident, all of which were herded outside as the police arrived and told that the club was closing early. A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police stated that an assault took place next to the dance floor at the back of the ground floor of the club.

The spokesman added: "We would like to thank the management and the staff at the club for their professionalism and the calm manner in which they dealt with the closure of the club. They helped the police greatly in diffusing a potentially difficult situation."
Police have asked witnesses to the assault or anyone with information to contact officers on 0845 6060247.
